geoffreyirving · x · 2026-10-20
Geoffrey Irving announced Resolution's new theoretical computer science leadership: Stanford professor and 2009 Gödel Prize winner Omer Reingold joins as TCS Technical Lead, and cryptographer Tal Rabin (IBM Watson, Algorand, now UPenn/AWS) joins as Board Advisor for team building.
Irving highlights Reingold's track record (SL=L, zigzag expanders) plus experience formalizing fuzzy ethical questions like statistical fairness, aiming both at alignment research. Resolution, backed by a $160M Coefficient Giving grant and $10M in OpenAI API credits, also recently launched an Agent Foundations team. Irving notes he once formalized Reingold's zigzag expander proof in Lean.
