TPU v9 glass substrate delay rumor debunked; Broadcom first adopter in 2029-30
zephyr_z9 · x · 2026-10-20
A DigiTimes rumor claimed Google's TPU v9 faces delays over low glass substrate yields. This post pushes back: v9's packaging doesn't use glass substrates. Broadcom will be the first adopter (JV with TOPPAN, Singapore facility) around 2029-2030; MediaTek has no such plans. The original rumor cited mass production in late 2027 and volume shipments in 2028.
