OpenCode bug: agents created mid-session in .opencode/agents/ require a restart to be discovered
AsafeTork · ghdev · 2026-10-20
- Issue in opencode (v1.18.31): agent definition files created in .opencode/agents/ during a running session are not picked up by the subagent tool's agent catalog — calls fail with Unknown agent until the session is restarted.
- The catalog is mounted at session bootstrap and never rescans; no config flag forces a refresh.
- Consistently reproducible (labeled reproduced). It breaks dynamic workflows that generate ephemeral agents on demand — the reporter hit it running MCP-driven subagent pipelines; restarting works but loses running context.
- Suggested fixes: rescan on subagent invocation, or watch .opencode/agents/ for changes.
