Wabi 2.0 Launches as CEO Bets the Next Big Consumer AI Platform Is Multiplayer

Wabi has launched version 2.0, pivoting from a personal agent to a shared, multiplayer one: a single thread where partners, friends, or parent groups can join as the agent updates calendars, books tickets, and plans trips together.
CEO Eugene Kuyda paired the launch with a contrarian industry thesis:
- Most AI products today are "single player" with shallow moats and no switching costs — your context lives in your Gmail, so hopping from Claude to ChatGPT is trivial; memory is the only stickiness.
- He predicts that within a year, one of the biggest consumer AI platforms will be multiplayer and built on genuine network effects.
- The winners will focus on people talking to other people, not just to AI — and today's default of single-player agents will look like early innings in retrospect.
It's a direct counter-thesis to the dominant personal-agent narrative: bet on network effects over personal context.
