Gartner's November 2025 'Generative AI Model Providers' Emerging Market Quadrant is drawing ridicule: IBM ranks above Anthropic and Microsoft in the 'Emerging Leaders' quadrant, Writer also makes the cut, while Meta and Mistral land in 'Emerging Challengers.' The AI community is questioning how out of touch the analyst firm's survey-based methodology is with actual model capabilities.
