- Anthropic + OpenAI: $187B (split between the labs and clouds reselling their models, $93.5B each)
- Meta & Google AI ad uplift: $108B — estimated from ad growth exceeding normalized rates; AI has added $95B over the past 2.5 years
- Cloud providers: $66B (excluding frontier lab resale revenue)
- AI-native apps & SaaS: $33B
- Other: $20B (Grok, Gemini subscriptions, AI uplift for Amazon, AppLovin, Unity ad platforms)
Assuming a 6-year equipment lifespan, the $931B in AI capex deployed over the past 3.5 years implies an overall IRR of roughly 12%.
