SnapJudge: open AI detector flags ~1 in 3 new arXiv math papers as mostly AI-generated

Bhuwan Dhingra's team introduces SnapJudge, a free open AI detector trained for scientific and math-heavy writing. It accepts multiple modalities: PDF screenshots, pasted text, LaTeX, or a direct arXiv link.
Running it across arXiv yields striking numbers: roughly 1 in 3 new math papers are flagged as mostly AI-written, up from near zero in early 2025; computer science papers hit 45%.
The release doubles as a tool and a quantified snapshot of AI adoption in academic publishing.
