College senior with zero coding experience builds AI day-forecasting planner in 2 months with Claude Code
mrfashionwatch · reddit · 2026-10-20
A college senior who had never written code two months ago built Forecast, a planner that predicts how much of your day will actually get done, using Claude Code — and is now recruiting beta testers.
What it does
- A 20-second morning check-in (sleep, stress, mood) yields a forecast like "71% of your plan will get done" plus a briefing
- Learns from the gap between planned and actual blocks, surfacing patterns ("Gym holds up before 9pm") with one-tap fixes
- Warns of burnout run-ups; deliberately no streaks
How it was built with Claude Code
- Single HTML file, no framework or build step; Supabase for auth/data, Cloudflare hosting auto-redeploying from GitHub pushes
- HANDOFF.md + CLAUDE.md provide cross-session memory: who the user is, file locations, decisions, roadmap
- Sandbox-first: changes tested in a login-free copy before applying to production
- Loop: plain-language requests, side-by-side mockups for visual choices, Claude self-testing in a browser, then user notes pasted back
- Human steered only the feel: no streaks, plain-language insights over charts
