Gartner: $1T AI infra spend in 2026, $3.5T could face write-downs by 2030

Gartner forecasts AI providers will spend nearly $1T on infrastructure in 2026 and another $6T from 2027-2030, warning that over $3.5T of that may need write-downs by end of 2030 as revenue won't cover cost. Since most AI-native providers run asset-light, less than half of AI revenue will reach companies owning the compute assets.
