Dyna Robotics crosses ROI threshold as Din Tai Fung expands robot deployment with bigger contract

Dyna Robotics announced its napkin-folding robots have crossed the ROI threshold: Din Tai Fung, the US restaurant chain with the highest revenue per location, signed a bigger contract after multi-site deployment and will roll the robots out across its network. The attached screenshot shows a customer text: a dozen managers visited the NY site, were impressed, and asked when their next batch of robots arrives — "the best robotics demo is a reorder."
Key points from Dyna's long-form post:
- Fleet targeted to reach hundreds of robots by H1 2027, with rollouts at hotels, logistics companies, and data centers; claimed as the first robot foundation-model company to take a manipulation pilot to scaled deployment.
- Citing Waymo co-CEO Dmitri Dolgov — "the demo took 18 months; the product took about 15 years" — the hard part is everything after the demo: edge cases, recovery, uptime, integrations, economics.
- Dyna argues for "both": building brains (models) and field deployment, refusing the research-lab vs. application-company dichotomy.
