Cheap Robot Arms Are Turning 3D Printers Into Overnight Factories
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-20
Robert Scoble highlights Isaac's work: simple robot arms (Maker Mods' Maker Arm + Metal Arm, powered by Dream Labs' Dream-1) can be given tasks in plain language from a browser, turning a 3D printer into a small factory that runs all night—waking up to 20 finished parts. Scoble argues we overindex on humanoids while simple arms already help people build things. He also previews a wave of robot launches next year and is visiting @mundanebot, which builds robots for dirty and dangerous jobs.
