AI companion app Tolan has raised $30M from USV, Khosla Ventures and Homebrew, bringing total funding to $60M. Per TechCrunch, over 250K people will use Tolan this month, mostly outside Silicon Valley — parents, caregivers and everyday users rather than productivity optimizers.
Use cases range from a real estate agent planning D&D campaigns with his Tolan to parents managing households; a family group feature is one of its biggest growth drivers. The team's core bet is on an AI that makes users feel seen and trusted.
