Show HN: A software engineer with 44 years of experience, formerly at YouTube and Meta, built a task system called 3 & Done.
Core design: it's the one place you trust to store everything you need to do. It accepts voice input for rapid entry (audio stored locally to jog your memory) as well as text, and emails you every morning with the three most important things to do that day and why — ranked by deadlines, urgency, and how long a task has been sitting.
The author recounts his career path (small companies, dot-com startups, a non-profit, then YouTube and Meta) and 25 task systems over the years (Moleskine + GTD, Evernote, bug trackers, Todoist, Asana, Google Keep, gantt charts, OmniPlan) — each eventually collapsed under its own maintenance overhead, which is the problem 3 & Done targets.
