Victoria Krakovna (DeepMind alignment researcher) announced a major October 2026 update to her curated "AI alignment resources" list, with feedback from Beth Barnes and Neel Nanda.
The list covers:
- Overviews and threat models for popular and technical audiences, including Dario Amodei's essay "The Adolescence of Technology," the 1,300+ employee "Pacing the Frontier" statement, and 80,000 Hours' loss-of-control profile
- Strategy and governance: frameworks, papers, forecasting
- Technical work: specification, scalable oversight, reward learning, generalization, AI control, CoT monitoring and faithfulness, model evaluations, alignment auditing, misalignment demonstrations and real-world incidents
- Understanding: mechanistic interpretability, power-seeking, specification gaming, side effects, tampering and wireheading
