Weekend DIY: two RP2040 boards give AI agents keyboard-video-mouse control of phones

hugs, author of Vibium, shared his weekend project "roadie boards": a hardware-based KVM (keyboard, video/voice, mouse/multitouch) approach to mobile automation that works out of the box with Vibium.
- How it works: captures video directly from a phone over HDMI (camera fallback), acting as keyboard, mouse, stylus, and now microphone/headset
- Hardware: two Adafruit QT Py RP2040s — one connects to the phone, the other to a computer running the AI agent and Vibium; a custom bridge board links them over UART (RX/TX) with common ground
- Tooling: arguably one of the simplest KiCad projects possible; he notes AI isn't good at circuit design yet, but ChatGPT was surprisingly useful for talking through design choices
- Next step: fabricate boards and test
Screenshots show the KiCad schematic and 3D PCB view.
