ArtificialAnlys · x · 2026-10-19
Artificial Analysis benchmarked MiniMax's new Flash reasoning model: it scores 42 on the Intelligence Index, up 13 points from M3, level with GLM-5.3-Flash and behind DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 (45).
- Complex reasoning jumps: 48% on Humanity's Last Exam (vs 39% for M3) and 22% on CritPt (vs 4%)
- Much cheaper: 189M output tokens plus $0.15/$0.60 per 1M token pricing brings cost to $0.22 per task — less than half of M3's $0.51 and far below Gemini 3.8 Flash's $1.24
- Broad but hallucination-prone: 56% accuracy on AA-Omniscience (best in class) but it attempts nearly every question, yielding a 93% hallucination rate and an overall score of 16
- 1M context, text+image input; closed weights now, open weights announced for October 23
