Pi Durable: checkpointing library lets AI agents survive crashes and resume tasks
Hugging Face · youtube · 2026-10-19
Hugging Face published a tutorial on Pi Durable, a TypeScript library that solves agents losing progress mid-task on crashes. It checkpoints every task and tool call (SQLite/JSONL), so a restarted process resumes where it left off — e.g. continuing from email 4 of 5.
It's a library for building always-on agents, not a CLI, and can run fully local with Qwen3.5-0.8B on llama.cpp. Full tutorial video and demo code on GitHub included.
