Town, an AI work assistant startup, announced a $108M Series B co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures. The founder argues the biggest bottleneck at work is waiting on each other, and that most AI assistants are built for one person—the moat is multiplayer: every employee gets a Townie that can ask other Townies questions, share only what its person would share, and do the work, getting more useful as teams collaborate. The product works across Gmail, Slack, calendars and MCP, doesn't train on user data by default, and is SOC2 Type 2 compliant.
