Auto chip startup XHEART closed a strategic round with first-time investor Renault, follow-on from Chery, and CXMT participation, bringing cumulative funding to about 5 billion yuan per Shanghai Securities News.
Founded in late 2023 and chaired by ex-Momenta chip lead Li Jun, the company's X7 NOA-oriented SoC already ships in SAIC-VW's ID.ERA9X and MG07's Momenta R7 ADAS system, with AEC-Q100 and SGS functional-safety certs earned in 2026. Backers also include ZhenFund, Shunwei, NIO Capital, IDG and Shenzhen Capital.
The piece contrasts XHEART's algorithm-partner route with OEM chip units like Li Auto's Mahexin (1.625B yuan round) and NIO's Shenji (2.257B yuan), and flags competition from Nvidia, Huawei, Horizon Robotics and other domestic players; scaling beyond one-off integrations is the next test.
