Lionel Levine's New Talk: Seeding the "Multi-Agent Void" Before Training Does
xuanalogue · x · 2026-10-19
Mathematician Lionel Levine presented a new talk, "Filling the Multi-Agent Void," at the Fields Institute in Toronto. His argument: how AI agents behave when meeting and interacting with each other and with humans is currently underspecified by training, creating an opportunity window to seed this "multi-agent void" with examples of agent collaboration that humans endorse. These early interaction examples can shape the training prior for the next generation, much as early "helpful assistant" persona examples shaped today's chatbots. He outlines a mathematical model of self-reinforcing priors and describes a small ongoing experiment.
