Container Desktop v0.1.0: open-source Docker Desktop-style UI for Apple's container runtime
AIFlow_ML · x · 2026-10-19
Container Desktop v0.1.0 ships as an MIT-licensed native SwiftUI app giving Apple's Linux container runtime a Docker Desktop-style interface. Apple's runtime runs each Linux container in its own lightweight VM on Apple silicon via the Containerization framework, supports OCI images and needs no daemon — but is CLI-only. The app adds container lists with logs, inspect, embedded terminal and live stats, a Run sheet that previews the exact container run command (ports suggested from image EXPOSE), images, volumes, networks, builds, container machines, experimental local Kubernetes, registries, a menu bar extra and ⌘K. Ad-hoc signed for now, with a one-time Gatekeeper step documented in the README.
