US out-of-home ad revenue hits record $3.16B as AI erodes trust in online channels
rwlord · x · 2026-10-19
Adweek reports that as AI undermines trust and traffic online, advertisers are rediscovering out-of-home media. US OOH revenue grew 10.7% YoY in Q2 to a record $3.16B, with digital OOH up 18.5% and accounting for nearly 40% of category revenue.
The broader thesis: as the internet becomes less trustworthy and more AI-mediated, physical space gains value. DOOH combines unskippability with targeting and programmability. Agencies like Horizon Media say the goal is better experiences where they matter, not more ads everywhere.
