X bots have leveled up: now they piggyback on top replies to look human
huangyun_122 · x · 2026-10-19
The author documents a new breed of AI reply bots on X: basic bots post single-layer replies, while smarter ones pick high-engagement replies and rework them to seem human. Screenshots show multiple suspect bot accounts riffing on each other around a free AI course thread, adding fake "hands-on experience" comments.
He also sketches a design of his own: a Multi-Bot alliance where one bot generates atmosphere and another produces high-quality text to siphon traffic. A useful field observation on the evolving AI astroturfing ecosystem.
