The four skills that stay valuable in the AI era, from a practitioner webinar
Al_Grigor · x · 2026-10-19
Al Grigor and Hugo Bowne-Anderson discussed which skills will stay valuable as AI reshapes roles:
- Hacker mentality — play with new models as they ship and find how to turn them into business value
- Data science skills — statistics, analysis, using data to improve products
- Domain expertise — SRE, DevOps, marketing, or anything vertical
Grigor adds a fourth: problem discovery. AI solves problems but can't find them for you; noticing repetitive, annoying tasks is the human edge. Final point: your customers are people, not agents.
