How One Founder Used Grok Bot to Submit Backlinks to 4000+ Sites in a Single Day
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-19
The author automated backlink submission for his product DMtheFounder (a free job board aggregating early-stage engineering roles founders post on X and HN) using Grok Bot: in one day it screened 4000+ candidate sites down to 282 free-submission ones, auto-submitted along three difficulty tracks, handled verification emails and confirmation links, and opened PRs to 22 GitHub awesome lists. Human involvement: setting rules, approving exceptions, clicking 10 mandatory verification emails.
Funnel: 1567 candidates → 638 marked free → 282 queued → 19 live or scheduled → 9 live, with 120 pending review.
The low live count was deliberate: paid tiers and "bio + URL" links were skipped, and free queues run weeks to 174 days. The post details rule-writing, asset prep, site screening, form filling, and six knobs (paying, link exchange, badges, wider search, engagement, bio links) for scaling volume.
