Google Gemini's Universal Cart brings cross-retailer shopping and checkout into the assistant
AIGPTJournal · reddit · 2026-10-19
Google launched Universal Cart in the U.S. on October 15, integrating shopping into Gemini and Google Search: save products from multiple retailers in one cart, get price-drop/restock alerts, see promo codes and card rewards, check out via Google Pay or retailer sites, and track eligible orders. Limitations: U.S.-only, uneven retailer support, and some Gemini conversations can't display cart or order info. The move pushes Gemini from recommending products to managing the actual purchase inside Google's ecosystem.
