Dev suggests Claude Code compact context before notifying, not after
tonygwu · x · 2026-10-19
Developer tonygwu calls out the most annoying Claude Code / Codex UX flaw: you get pinged to return to a session, only to immediately hit context compaction.
His proposed fix is simple: if the session is already near the 750k auto-compact threshold, run compaction first, then send the notification. He tags Anthropic's Claude Code leads.
