Websites Are Closing Their Doors to AI Agents: Yelp, Delta, JPMorgan Block Bots
steveplunkett · x · 2026-10-19
The Verge reports that popular websites are blocking AI agents despite pushes by OpenAI, Meta, and Google to make agents do everything for you. Users of Meta's Muse, xAI's Grok, OpenAI's Dots, and Instinct report blocks on top sites. Yelp only allows agents that pay for its data licensing; Delta prevents agent bookings; JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab block agents over security concerns. Cars.com and Amtrak appear to have quietly started blocking too, and Amazon already banned Perplexity's agentic shopping last year. Commenters warn the whole agent market could get hammered if sites feed agents bad data or wrong pricing.
