Michael Dell thanked Jensen Huang and recalled his first Taiwan trip in 1985 at age 20: Compeq (not Compaq) made PCBs for Dell. He showed the hand-wired prototype (by Jay Bell, RIP) of Dell's first 286-based PC and the production motherboard, built on a Chips and Technologies chipset and manufactured in Japan before TSMC's rise. The story also appears in his book Play Nice But Win.
