Indie roboticist shows first neck actuation attempt for humanoid robot, AI-assisted design
_Stocko_ · x · 2026-10-18
Indie robot builder @Stocko shares a first attempt at neck actuation for his humanoid robot project "astra": a simple ball joint structure with actuators planned inside the head. He admits he can't yet picture how it will work, and is using AI to work out the kinematics — the AI says the design isn't sufficiently constrained but will render an animation anyway. CAD render of the head-neck joint included.
