A beginner-friendly open-source book on GitHub (1.1k stars), Introduction to Semiconductor Manufacturing, follows one silicon wafer from sand through the fab, test and packaging to a finished chip across 25 chapters, available in Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean.
It skips heavy physics and focuses on process flow, terminology and fab-floor know-how, with term and know-how boxes in every chapter—no semiconductor physics background required. Sample nugget: with eight chiplets per package at 99% yield each, the odds all eight are good drop to 92%, hence known-good-die testing before packaging.
