Andrew Ng: 'AI for Science' will become meaningless as AI becomes every scientist's tool
andrewgwils · x · 2026-10-18
Andrew Ng predicts the phrase "AI for Science" will eventually be meaningless: every domain scientist will also be an AI scientist, and it won't need a special title. "A chemist who uses AI will just be a normal chemist." Consistent with his view of AI as a general-purpose technology that permeates all disciplines rather than a standalone field.
