AI assistant keeps getting Saturday deadlines wrong, then apologizes for meaning Sunday
markjeffrey · x · 2026-10-18
A retweet of @jaltucher's claim that "AI is not going to destroy humanity any time soon," paired with screenshots of an AI assistant's scheduling blunder: it repeatedly set deadlines for "Saturday 14:00Z," and only after the user pointed out "today is Saturday" did it apologize and admit every "Saturday" it mentioned actually meant tomorrow, Sunday (Oct 17, 4:45pm CT), then corrected all times.
The screenshots are the punchline — a fitting riposte to the doomer framing, since the model can't even get the day of the week right.
