Frontend perf rules for 2026: static-first, cache shared content, never block navigation
cramforce · x · 2026-10-18
@andrewqu argues we should only ship amazing experiences in 2026: always optimize backend/database, but latency remains, so handle the frontend by content type—staticize when possible, cache dynamic-but-shared content, and render a shell immediately for personalized content without blocking navigation. Applied to the community product cosign: feed→explore streams nicely, but explore→lists and lists→jobs block navigation with a loading pulse, and deep links from notifications (dynamic but not personalized) shouldn't block. The author plans to turn this into a skill.
