AnyPS5 runs PS5 games on PC without an emulator, 27.8k GitHub stars
Vjeux · x · 2026-10-18
Open-source project AnyPS5 claims to run PS5 games natively on Linux and Windows — no emulator involved.
Instead of simulating console hardware, it translates PS5 executables into native format: a "relinker" converts the executable, reimplemented PS5 system libraries handle dynamic linking (87.37% coverage, 3133/3586 functions), and PS5 shaders are recompiled to Vulkan (100% instruction coverage).
The approach mirrors how Wine brought Windows games to Linux, but applied to Sony's console. Some games already run at 60fps, the compatibility list grows weekly, and the project has nearly 5,000 commits, 27,800 stars and 2,400 forks under GPL-2.0.
