Same task, same model, 3 reruns: OpenHands is the most consistent agent harness tested
rajistics · x · 2026-10-18
yb2698 ran the exact same task N times with the same model across agent harnesses, tracking pass/fail flips, turn-count variation, and input-token variance. Minimal harnesses (ipython, pi) suffered heavily from run-to-run randomness, while OpenHands was by far the most consistent across all tested harnesses.
rajistics highlighted the finding: consistency is a very good thing in a harness — a reminder that single-run pass/fail evals can be unreliable and harness design materially affects result stability.
