DeepSeek ships V4.1-Flash-1017 with Pareto gains; tested near-Claude at motion effects
AlchainHust · x · 2026-10-17
DeepSeek officially released DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017, now live on web, app, and API. The company claims stronger benchmark performance, faster task completion, and shorter outputs than the previous version — a Pareto improvement in performance and cost. It's optimized for DeepSeek Harness, Tencent CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy and more, with DeepSeek Harness v0.2.1-rc.1+ recommended.
Blogger @AlchainHust tested it and found its motion-effect generation nearly on par with Claude — better than what he got from GPT-6 — though he paired it with his own upcoming motion-effects skill, due out next week.
