DeepSeek ships V4.1-Flash-1017: better benchmarks, shorter outputs, lower cost
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-10-17
DeepSeek released DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017, calling it a Pareto improvement over the previous version: stronger benchmark performance, faster task completion, and shorter outputs. It's live on the website, app, and API.
The model was specifically optimized during training for agent tools including DeepSeek Harness, Tencent CodeBuddy, and WorkBuddy. DeepSeek Harness 0.2.1 shipped alongside it; the team recommends upgrading to 0.2.1-rc.1 or later to fully benefit from reduced runtime and token costs.
