ChatGPT iOS bug: curly-brace text vanishes and long replies truncate mid-token
D4ttara · ghdev · 2026-10-13
A user reports content loss in ChatGPT Project conversations on the native iOS app (iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 27.0.1): literal text with curly-brace groups disappears in rendered messages — e.g. S{Ȧ}R displays as SR and M{Y}OGA becomes MOGA in some exports — and one answer truncated mid-token at a malformed MOR}4 fragment. The issue repeated across multiple conversations over several days, verified against local Markdown exports and desktop screenshots. The reporter frames it as a rendering/product-integrity issue, not a confirmed security exploit; the failing stage (model output, serialization, client renderer, export, or stream reconciliation) is undetermined.
