Sandbox author: parent-child shared filesystem can be hacked together with NFS, painfully
zeeg · x · 2026-10-17
Continuing the discussion with Cursor's thdxr on multi-attach RW volumes, sandbox author zeeg clarifies that multi-host RW attach is just the cheapest mechanism he could describe — other approaches exist, and the core need is a shared filesystem from child sandboxes to the parent. It's technically not hard to solve, but you can't bolt it on if you never planned for it since you probably want clustering at minimum; a workaround is running a bunch of disk mounts and NFS-ing the stuff, which would suck but be functional.
