Dev uses Claude Code to turn billboard site into 3D game where real shops rent buildings
iucoann · reddit · 2026-10-17
A developer rebuilt a dead "buy a billboard" site into a free browser-based 3D game built almost entirely with Claude Code. Real businesses rent buildings ($5–$49/month) for banners, 3D showrooms and self-written quests that reward players with real promo codes. Highlights: Claude fixed an email sign-in bug from a single console screenshot by digging into the hosting library; a performance pass measured 685 draw calls per frame and cut it to 335 with auto quality scaling; and Claude produced a gameplay trailer by scripting demo accounts, recording via headless browser, and composing beat-synced music in code. Lessons: user screenshots are gold, ask it to measure rather than guess, and set ground rules once.
