Claude desktop regression hides context window usage, ring can read 3% at 80% full
imagiclondon · ghdev · 2026-10-16
A regression in the Claude desktop app's Code tab (v2.42304.0, macOS) removes the session's context window line from the usage ring popover, showing only 5-hour and weekly plan usage.
- With no context figure anywhere, users can't tell how close a long session is to compaction.
- The ring fills with plan usage, so it can read 3% while the session is over 80% full.
- Two users reported the same issue after #91712 was closed; related issues #92475 and #92224.
- Reported on Max plan with Opus 5.5; the ask is to restore the context line or say where it moved.
