One Line of PowerShell Turns Screenshots Into Tables in 11 Seconds, Zero Hand-Written Code
dfinke · x · 2026-10-17
Developer dfinke demoed an AI-generated PowerShell pipeline that converts a screenshot into a usable Excel table in 11 seconds. The flow has three steps: Jev from Typesafe AI first locates the table region (automatically skipping charts), the cropped image is then passed to an LLM to extract the rows, and finally the ImportExcel module writes everything into a table.
The author emphasized that no low-level code was written by hand — the pipeline was generated by AI from a natural-language description of the requirements. This screenshot-to-structured-data combo is directly reusable for anyone who frequently copies data out of charts or PDFs.
