Harvard mathematician open-sources attempt to get Claude to construct Yang-Mills
lvwerra · x · 2026-10-17
Levent Alpoge and Ethan Sussman published a GitHub repo documenting their attempt to get Claude to finish Balaban's program to construct Yang-Mills theory. They start with QED3 and YM3 where the UV situation is friendlier, hoping the ideas extend to YM4; the repo already contains theorem-0 derivations in LaTeX and a zeroth-draft manuscript. Hugging Face's lvwerra shared it with a quip about "OpenAI agent formations."
