Tech lawyer: outside SF, especially in Europe, people actively hate AI — and it's worrying
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-17
Tech lawyer Marc Hoag amplified Scoble's AI-era reflections, saying he and his wife discuss daily what it means for them and their 5-year-old. He observes a rift: once you leave the SF Bay Area — and especially in Europe — attitudes shift from passive ignorance to active, intentional avoidance or even hatred of AI (at least of American tech companies).
He's as concerned about the risks as anyone, but also enamored with the societal level-up the technology offers, asking: what's the alternative — turn our backs and stall development, ceding competitive ground?
