NPCTalk: Open-Source Repo Makes Every GTA V NPC Talk Back in Cloned Voices
noahsolomon · x · 2026-10-16
NPCTalk (GitHub, MIT) makes NPCs in any game talk in realtime: the author got every GTA V NPC to answer in-character with cloned original voices in under 1s, and act on what you say.
Fully open-model stack, self-hosted on serverless GPU:
- NVIDIA Nemotron ASR for transcription
- Qwen 3.8 27B for realtime dialogue
- Fish Audio Drama 3 for cloned voices
The repo packages Claude-learned skills into plugins for Claude Code / Codex / Cursor / Gemini, a self-hosted voice server, agent skills, and a full GTA V example.
