Coding agent runs are getting long — one dev suggests breathing, not parallel sessions
teropa · x · 2026-10-16
Tero Parviainen shares a tongue-in-cheek productivity tip for the era of increasingly long autonomous coding agent runs: instead of spinning up another parallel session while your agent works, sit and breathe slowly, then meet the review phase with clarity, focus, and calm.
He also built a companion web tool, Motif, that guides breathwork with sound: it walks through ujjayi ("ocean breath") pranayama and offers a soundscape rising and falling about six times per minute to entrain your breathing rhythm.
Beyond the humor, it captures a real shift: as agents take over execution, the human role narrows to review and judgment — making the quality of your waiting a genuine productivity variable.
