Hugging Face launches AI4Science heatmap tracking open models from 79 orgs, AI2 and OpenMed lead

Hugging Face released a Hugging Science heatmap aggregating open models, datasets and apps contributed to AI for Science over the past year, spanning 16 discipline tags (biology, medicine, climate, materials, etc.) from 79 organizations. Ranked by activity, AI2, OpenMed and NVIDIA lead, followed by Open Athena, Microsoft, AI at Meta, Biohub and Google. The author argues open sharing makes scientific artifacts reproducible and stackable, accelerating discovery.
