Agent HUD: open-source Mac notch app monitors Claude Code, Codex & 15+ agent quotas, built with Claude
No-Hunter9792 · reddit · 2026-10-16
An open-source (Apache-2.0) macOS 14+ notch app that monitors AI coding agents: the notch glow turns green/yellow/red as quotas fill, each agent shows its logo with a usage ring, hover reveals limits and burn rate, click shows 24h token usage. Claude Code permission requests and replies appear in-place; quotas are read locally via the existing Claude Code sign-in (no messages to models, no stored credentials). Supports Codex and 15+ other agents.
The build itself is a Claude-driven development case study: Claude Design produced clickable mockups turned into code with a detailed spec; browser panels, simulators, and direct Mac control let Claude see and verify its own output; an Artifacts flow diagram exposed a two-Mac bug before coding; a read-only audit with 9 subagents surfaced 100 issues (6 fixed, corrections persisted to AGENTS.md).
