Runspore: open-source Rust workflow runtime defined in Graphviz DOT
MaxLevitskiy · reddit · 2026-10-16
A developer open-sourced Runspore, a workflow runtime written in Rust with a WebAssembly kernel. Workflows are described in Graphviz DOT—the same graph drives execution and renders as a diagram, so humans read the chart while agents edit the text; action bindings live in a separate JSON file. The author found Temporal too heavy and n8n not programmable enough. Still unfinished, it already coordinates agents building Runspore itself: 59 merged PRs between Oct 12–16 were marked as built by Runspore runs.
